Australia’s Non-Alcoholic Beverages Industry: The Lifeblood of Aussie Manufacturing

Date: 29 March 2025

The Australian Beverages Council Limited (ABCL) today welcomes the government’s announcement of a $20 million investment into promoting Australian manufactured goods.
Australia is a hothouse for the creation of quality, innovative non-alcoholic drinks that are meeting changing consumer demands not just in Australia, but around the world.

ABCL CEO, Geoff Parker said “Promoting Australian Made to Australian consumers is an important way to recognise that investment by creative domestic businesses having a go in a very competitive domestic and global market.”

Collectively, the ABCL’s members contribute more than $9 billion annually to the Australian economy and support more than 63,000 Aussie jobs across the nation. The industry contributes more than $1.5 billion in tax revenue each year along its supply chain and each employee in our manufacturing industry creates nearly five jobs elsewhere in the Australian economy to produce and distribute our drinks.

“The government’s initiative will help consumers be reassured that they are buying high quality, locally made drinks, choosing a tasty beverage for the right occasion,” Mr Parker said.
