Water Extraction in Australia

The beverages industry adds value to the Australian economy totalling $7 billion per annum and supports more than 45,000 jobs across the supply chain. This contribution is realised in a variety of ways both directly and indirectly supporting national and state economies.

One of the biggest contributions is made from employment generated by the beverages industry in primary industries, manufacturing, transport and retail.

Many consumers enjoy the convenience, taste and quality of bottled water. The category, which is expected to generate revenue of more than $800 million by 2020-21, plays an important and healthy part in ensuring we remain hydrated.

The category produces a number of products, including spring water, purified water, mineral water, and packaged water.
